This time last week, there was a noticeable buzz around Newcastle City Centre as the NOF Energy: A Balanced Future 2015 came to town.

These events are extremely important to us from a networking perspective – it’s not often that we generate major ‘sales’ leads from such events. However it’s always great to make new connections, and also to rekindle past relationships, as quite often new business is generated as a result.

I think this year’s event came at an extremely appropriate time, with the energy industry recently experiencing a period of evolution – particularly in the UK offshore Oil and Energy Industry – which has been great for us in terms of the requirement for our knowledge & experience – being in our 30th anniversary year and all!

What’s important is that we understand the problems and challenges that many companies in the Oil & Energy Industry are encountering right now – and that experience is something we’re so passionate about sharing.

We were proud to be showing off our brand new exhibition backdrop on stand 34, which was in a great location on the main walkway so we anticipated having a good footfall of delegates coming to visit us.

Judging by the entertainment on the Tuesday evening, Wednesday’s conference was certainly something I was looking forward to. This was my first Energy: A Balanced Future event – but I’d heard some great reviews from last year, and it certainly lived up to my expectations.

We had lots of visitors on our stand over the duration of the event and it was great to have to regularly replenish our brochure & business card displays – hopefully this made for some interesting reading and I look forward to receiving enquiries about SCM and how we can help.

It’s refreshing to know that although the Oil & Energy Industry is under increasing pressure to reduce costs whilst maintaining Integrity, Production and Safety, people are actively looking for solutions – which are out there – instead of just trying to ride the storm!

Here at SCM we’re all about maximising value for our clients, increasing profitability and enhancing safety and in achieving this, we actually reduce costs of maintenance. We endeavour to give our clients complete control and peace of mind over these constraints – which as mentioned is now more important than ever in the Oil & Energy Industry.
